About
Ever wonder what stars and planets you look up at each night, or how the Milky Way's center keeps them in orbit? Come to our events and find out! We host multiple events that involve exploring the beauty of the natural world and the laws that govern it.
These events will include observation through telescopes used in astronomical research, general-audience talks on data analysis and particle physics from BU's expert faculty, and interactive workshops exploring technologies such as programmable robotics and 3D printing. This year in particular, with the need for events that can be attended virtually, we will focus on exploring the laws that theorists have discovered throughout history, from Democritus' revolutionary idea in ancient Greece to Albert Einstein's rewriting of cosmology with general relativity, and beyond.
So, if you've ever asked yourself why we think dark matter exists, or who exactly Michael Faraday was, or whether Schrödinger had anything other than a cat (he did!), consider joining the club! You'll find plenty of others with the same questions that you have, and maybe even someone with a few of the answers!
